Overview

The Platinum Pole Awards begun in 2017 and was held every year until 2019. It started with just the one competition in Philadelphia (held during November) but an additional contest was included after the first year. This second competition, held in Pittsburgh during June, is referred to as Platinum Pole Awards, Steel City. So in reality, it is a twice yearly competition held at two different venues in Pennsylvania, USA.

Each competition has a cash prize of $10,000, and attracts contestants from all over the globe, making it a truly international affair. Limited to 10 contestants, this is the cream of showgirl pole dancers, and a feast for the connoisseur. Contestants are assessed on agility, technicality, presentation, showmanship, originality of performance and costuming. With competitions in both June and November each year, there is plenty of opportunity to make a visit to see this spectacle for yourself.
