Released on 29th October 1994, this single has gone on to become the best modern-day Christmas song to be added to the all-time classics. It has been helped, no doubt, by the 1940-1960 influences in the tune. Written for her 4th album (a holiday themed release) it has sold well over 60 million copies worldwide and reached no.1 in 25 countries...although surprisingly it only hit the top spot in the US and the UK a quarter of a century later (in 2019 & 2020 respectively).

Across the years there have been various remixes and, although the original has over 775 million views of YouTube, here's our favorite (with over 225 million views): 

In 2001. Mariah Carey re-recorded the song as a duet with Canadian singer Justin Bieber.

The song has been covered by many other artists too, including Ariana Grande, Demi Lavato, Dolly Parton (with Jimmy Fallon), Fifth Harmony, Justin Bieber, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Antebellum, Mark Martel, Minniva (ft.
