This is teen TV star (from "The New Mickey Mouse Club") Christina Aguilera's debut single from her self-titled debut album, released in 1999. It followed her recording of "Reflection" (the theme song to Disney's 1998 film "Mulan") and, as candy-pop as this is, it more than successfully launched Christina Aguilera into her music career. Hitting the no.1 spot in 8 countries (including the UK and the USA), plus being a top ten hit in over 14 other countries, the (misinterpreted) sexuality of the song certainly helped transition this teen to adulthood:

A Spanish version of the song was recorded in 2000, hitting No.13 in the Hot Latin Charts:

An Egyptian-turned-Metal version of "Genie in a bottle" was performed on Christine Aguilera's 2002/3 "Justified and Stripped" tour:

An electro-pop/dance version of this song, titled "Genie 2.0" was released on her 2008 album, "Keeps Gettin' Better: A Decade of Hits":

There have been a few people cover this track. This includes Dove Cameron in 2016, for the Disney Chanel:

Swedish YouTube sensation Sofia Karlberg did a R&B/Ballard version of this song, which was remixed by Enes Yurtlu in 2018:

Also cover rock band "First to Eleven" in 2021:

Plus, here's a fun metal cover of the track from 2017 by Leo Morachioli (ft. Lillian):

We haven't found many remixes, but our favorite is The Afterlight remix from 2021:

To finish, here are some choregraphed moves to the music by Jade Chynoweth:
